Recruitment of experienced master mariners to become specialist Thames navigational pilots is helping the Port of London Authority keep river trade flowing.

Nickie Aiken MP (Con, Cities London & Westminster) took to the Thames outside Parliament (31 March), to unveil new eight-metre long banners on Port of London Authority (PLA) litter collectors in the river.

The Port of London Authority is swapping diesel vans for the lightweight Kawasaki Mule utility vehicles, in a trial that is expected to reduce operational emissions and fuel use.
