London Titan – the Port of London Authority’s (PLA) new and unique multi-purpose mooring maintenance vessel – will help modernise how the authority works and provide a safe work platform for staff.

A drive to make the tidal Thames cleaner for current and future generations is already helping river users change how they deal with sewage waste.

At approx. 1414 today (Thursday 17 July 2014) there was a collision on the Thames near Waterloo Bridge involving the passenger boat ‘Millennium Time’ and the tug ‘Redoubt’.

Rowers on the Thames tideway are being urged to keep a look out at all times in a new poster campaign from the Port of London Authority (PLA) and Thames Regional Rowing Council (TRRC).

The Port of London Authority (PLA) is asking skippers and crews of powered leisure vessels to carry out routine inspections before they embark on trips on the Thames.

At approx. 1155 today (Wednesday 4 June 2014) the passenger boat ‘Millennium Diamond’ struck part of Tower Bridge. There were 130 people on board at the time.

The Port of London Authority (PLA) which oversees safety on the tidal Thames has issued formal safety warnings to all recreational craft users.
