Marilyn is onboard!

Marilyn Monroe came onboard the R.S. Hispaniola Bar and Restaurant, a ship permanently moored on the Embankment, to enjoy the stunning views upstream towards the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

The iconic film star is in London for the exhibition Travilla: the man who dressed Marilyn Monroe, which is being showcased on a neighbouring ship: the HMS President.

Some of Monroe's famous dresses, created for her by William Travilla, the Hollywood designer to the stars, can be seen for the first time in London. The exhibition includes an identical copy made by Travilla from the original pattern of the white dress worn in the Seven Year Itch. Further information on the exhibition - Travilla: the man who dressed Marilyn Monroe - is available on the website (opens in a new window).

The exhibition runs until 10 December 2008 and proceeds will go towards helping Ethos, a charity to promote and encourage social enterprise and various Alzheimer's charities. Visit the Ethos website for more information (opens in a new window).

Further information on the R.S. Hispaniola can be obtained by calling + 44 (0)207 839 3011 or by visiting the website.
