16ft Lego Pharaoh enjoys Thames Cruise!

Shine Communications employed the services of Livett's Launches to float a giant 16ft Lego Pharaoh up the Thames on its route to Legoland Windsor. The stunt produced some striking photographs as the Pharaoh passed some of London's most famous land marks on the top deck of the Motor Vessel 'Edwardian'.

The Pharaoh's journey was the final leg of 1,395 mile trip from the Czech Republic to Legoland Windsor, where he will be the centrepiece for a brand new attraction - Kingdom of the Pharaohs - which opens to the public for the first time on 21st March 2009.

The Lego Pharaoh followed in the footsteps of Anubis, the Egyptian God of the Dead, who famously floated down the River Thames in 2007 to mark the opening of the Tutankhamen exhibition in London.

It took a team of model makers five months and 200,000 individual Lego pieces to complete the Pharaoh. Weighing in at one tonne, he is one of the biggest Lego models ever made.
