The Port of London Authority's (PLA) harbour masters are asking river users to pay attention to their vessel’s wash and draw-off.

The Port of London Authority will be supporting the improvement in Thames water quality by enforcing a ban on the disposal of black water (i.e. sewage) into the tidal river from commercial vessels. This restriction, to be introduced by General Direction, will come into effect from 1 July 2024.
