This year’s Annual Stakeholder Forum, hosted by our chairman, Christopher Rodrigues CBE, will be online, starting at 2.00 pm on Tuesday, 11 May 2021.
At the Forum we will look to share with you the story of last year and how we are looking to the future. We will do this through updates from: chief executive, Robin Mortimer; chief harbour master, Bob Baker; and chief financial officer, Julie Tankard. After their presentations we will be open to your comments and questions.
Last year saw unprecedented challenge for us all. At the PLA we focused on being a good partner to our customers and the wider community. Our expert team worked to sustain essential supply chains and keep goods on the move. We are supporting recovery too. Investment in our key pilotage services to meet demand continues and we are progressing investments that support river use.
The pandemic accelerated economic and social change. This is manifest today in changing city logistics, patterns of consumption, the evolution of our cities and an even sharper focus on climate change and the transition to Net Zero. Ship technology is evolving rapidly too.
Looking to the future is a major focus for us this year. In late May we will launch a programme of engagement as we refresh the Thames Vision, the river development framework launched in 2016.
Our goal, working with customers and stakeholders will be to create a new Vision that reflects the opportunities and priorities out for 2050. It is likely to centre on: development of a Net Zero port and river cluster; a climate resilient port, river and city; greater public engagement with the river; improved access for tourism, sports and recreation; and greater diversity and inclusion. We will let you know when the consultation starts.
When: 2pm, Tuesday 11 May 2021
