As of Jan 1st, 2016 MacAndrews will join OPDR in Tilbury making it one of the biggest hubs of the group with the best connections to/from the UK, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Poland, Morocco and Canary Islands vv. With nine weekly calls, MacAndrews and OPDR will provide their clients reliable services and short transit times between the different markets. At the same time, the Group would also like to thank Thamesport for the excellent work over the past years.

Till Ole Barrelet, Chief Executive Officer of the OPDR group and Chief Operational Officer of MacAndrews states: “The location, the port centric logistics and the connectivity with the CMA CGM Group were the decisive factors for the decision to consolidate at the port of Tilbury. This is another important step to deepen the cooperation with our new shareholder and partner.”

Commenting on the agreement, Charles Hammond, Chief Executive of Forth Ports (owners of London Container Terminal) said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with MacAndrews and OPDR and supporting them in growing their business. This is a significant agreement for Tilbury and is an important part of our own growth plan for the port, alongside major investments that will benefit MacAndrews and OPDR such as our new 230k square foot chilled facility adjacent to the terminal and extra warehousing facilities being built at London Distribution Park which offer truly port centric logistics. Today’s announcement is testament to the hard work of all the team at London Container Terminal and will provide security for our staff in this extremely competitive container market place.”
