The PLA says that trade through the Port of London in 2011 was 48.8 million tonnes, an increase of 700,000 tonnes, or 1.5%, on 2010.

The PLA has launched a second film to help rowers use the tidal Thames safely, this time focusing on rowing in the upper district of the river.

A public meeting to discuss current and future issues about the Thames will take place at the London Rowing Club, Putney, on Tuesday 7 February 2012, at 6.30pm. The meeting will give local people an opportunity to put questions direct to senior staff from the Port of London Authority (PLA).
