Millennium Diamond Incident

At approx. 1155 today (Wednesday 4 June 2014) the passenger boat ‘Millennium Diamond’ struck part of Tower Bridge. There were 130 people on board at the time.

The ‘Millennium Diamond’ was not badly damaged and was able to safely reach St Katharine Pier where the passengers left the boat.

We understand 10 passengers were injured: five of these were treated at the scene and five taken to hospital.

The Port of London Authority and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency have both begun investigations into the cause of the accident.
