The PLA survey RIB (newly commissioned 2014) is a 4m x 1.8m rigid inflatable fitted with a hull mounted Valeport Midas Dual frequency single beam Echosounder, DGPS or RTK GPS options and SeatexMRU-H heave compensation for accurate single beam sounding.

The RIB is ideally suited to a shallow water environment and with minimum air draft could be utilised for difficult in-fill areas or areas with restricted water depths, air draft and manoeuvring space. The vessel can either be deployed/mobilised from a mother vessel,  its base in Gravesend via water or towed to site by land and deploy from it’s trailer.
